The House Beside the Mine, 1969
NEMS label being renowned for signing extraordinary artists, released this single in the final year of the sixties by Hayden Wood, the tone of which suggests the gloom that was to follow.
Wonderful! This song is one of my very favourites... it's making me cry. But the old version I'd heard was of much lower quality. Yes, I agree with PsychAlex above - it'd be fantastic to hear the flip, and anything else this mysterious mr Wood has ever sang. Do you know anything about his fate?
Very best regards and my deepest thanks for your amazing work,
I love this track! Is the b-side to this as good?
ReplyDeleteYes it is a stunning track. I can't remember what the flip side is or sounds like, and will dig it out some time and put it up for you.
ReplyDeleteBest regards
