Angel Pavement 4 track acetate - 1967

Playing at 33rpm this one off acetate contains four previously unheard tracks by this band.  I include one track here (apologies for poor recording):-

Angel Pavement - Phantasmagoria / Rooftop Memories 1967 acetate

This is the only known recording of two early Angel Pavement tracks, one of which I include here for you, both of which have been released on Tenth Planet (Wooden Hill).

GALLIARD - New Dawn Breaking / Winter Song - acetate

Misattributed here to Genesis,  this is a 2 sided acetate by Galliard containing 2 tracks from their Deram LP 'New Dawn', an extremely rare piece of British progressive rock with some jazz and folk leanings.  This was recorded  in the Beatles' legendary Abbey Road Number 2 studio

There is no track called 'Winter Song' which I assume is the track finally named 'Winter - Spring - Summer', though I cannot confirm this.

URBAN - When My Train Comes In - acetate

Fine late sixties composition here by Urban.  Like the Thor acetate posted earlier, both appear on Wooden Hill Psychedelic Schlemiels compilations.

THOR - You're my Cream - acetate

A catchy dance number here by Thor recorded late 1960s.

Only the acetate(s) exist.

 

Time and Motion Man - Carter Lewis (Ministry of Sound) IBC acetate

A splendid release, presumably around 1967.

The Roll Movement - I'm Out on My Own / Just One Thing

Another single on the tiny GO label here from 1967 by the Roll Movement.

Cinnamon Quill - Morgan demo with release note - Take it or Leave it

A splendid B side here by Cinnamon Quill.  I have the other single and will post it later.

Complete with release note detailing the band members, and the fact that the band , "who have a huge following in the Midlands, are resident group in Birmingham's top discotheque, the Rum Runner".

On the little known GO label, a fine release by Our Plastic Dream.

Reputedly, Gervase was a Cambridge outfit (student(s)), and released this one single.

This is the second single by Simon (their third can be heard HERE), and contains strong compositions on both sides.  I will post their first single at a later date.

The Cymbaline - Matrimonial Fears - acetate

This acetate contains both sides of the released single, with Matrimonial Fears having no fade in - so the full effect at the beginning.

Merry Go Round - unknown artist

Now released as a hidden track on Psychedelic Schlemiels 4, a late sixties acetate.

Blossom Toes - Penny & the Pennies

Unreleased until recently, a rough production of Penny & the Pennies from this one sided acetate.  Of notice is the ending where he says "I sodded it up".

JULY - The Way

Third single release, here on the Epic Label (US), unfortunately backed by the dreadful 'Hello, who's there', no doubt under pressure from the record company.

Engelchen - The Jay Five (Jacques Loussier) and Sophie Daumier

I am including this single on account that it is rather good.  Engelchen was the theme tune for the 1968 film Engelchen oder die Jungfrau von Bamberg. (Angel Baby)

And the other side is 'Femme, Femme' by Sophie Daumier 

The Fruit Machine - Follow Me 1968, I'm Alone Today 1969

A superb group who recorded 'live'  in a basement I believe.  Here are the two best tracks from both singles on Spark:-

One of just three singles by July, and this one the most noticeable by far (the first was a poor US only release).

Another marvelous release, and as is often the case, a one off by this grop - released November 1967.
